The fog, cold and wet weather are here. Still some golden leaves hanging onto branches give some colour to the landscape which is mostly monochrome now. I have been sorting through work for an upcoming exhibition with friend and multi-talented artist-musician Bob Morse and came across these pictures of Lydie Ighil. They were made in the depth of winter. This incredible Algerian dancer has developed a personal style combining her knowledge of oriental, tribal, and flamenco dance that heats up an ordinary room with fiery intensity in only a few minutes.
The limits of the pinhole were stretched with so much movement, so we only see like through a veil of winter fog the strongest imprints of the private performances. It is with great gratitude to Lydie I present these images here for the first time.
